A Barnsley fabricator and his family are turning an ex-council gritter into their home — then driving it around the world.
Ben Greenwood — welder, fabricator and painter with twenty years on the tools — lost his business and started again from rock bottom. Now he’s building the way back in public: a 2014 Mercedes Arocs 3333 6×6, transformed by hand into an off-grid home for his family of four (plus Peanut the dog), departing 1 July 2027 on a route through roughly 42 countries, Barnsley to Tokyo the long way. Every stage is filmed honestly — the wins and the cock-ups.
Audiences across the trades, fabrication and custom-vehicle world, overlanding and expedition travel, and family adventure — built on one thing: honesty.
If your brand belongs on this build — tools, power, suspension, tyres, camp kit, tech — we should talk.
