What this is really about

Build a journey. Earn from it. Give it back.

This isn’t views for the sake of views. We’re turning the build, the journey and the people who follow it into something that earns — and the reason we’re earning is to give back to people who were hit when our business came down.

Not because anyone’s making us — because it’s the right thing to do. And because we want our boys to grow up knowing that’s how you carry yourself when life knocks you flat.

All of it out in the open: the build, the road, and the giving back. The full detail of how it works goes live right here the moment it’s signed off.

HONEST

The real version. The cost, the struggle, the doubts, the wins. No fake polish.

FAMILY

Not a solo hero arc. A family building something impossible, together.

INSPIRING

Here's what's actually possible. Decide to build something — then do it.

Through heartache produces beautiful things.

The Story

Everything I’d built came apart.

Twenty years building custom vehicles — and then the hardest year of my life took it all down to nothing.

I’m not here to relive it or point fingers. I’m here to show what comes after. When you hit rock bottom as a dad you get two choices: stay there, or get up and build something your boys can be proud of.

So this is me getting up — in the open, the wins and the failures, nothing glossed. Proof that the lowest point of your life can be the start line for something bigger.

I’m not asking for forgiveness. I’m asking for a chance to show my boys that when life knocks you flat, you don’t run — you rebuild.

The build
The Build

Built by hand, from nothing.

The Build

Ground up. By hand. Every stage earned.

No bought-in conversion. A bare Mercedes Arocs 3333 6×6 turned into a home on wheels — twenty years of fabrication going into every joint.

01

Chassis & Subframe

Torsion-free rail-on-rail subframe on graded rubber cone mounts — so the box flexes with the chassis off-road instead of tearing itself apart. Design locked, fabrication underway.

02

Habitation Box

A 7.5m torsion-free living box with a 45° rear departure cutout — built to carry a family across continents and still clear the angles.

Designed

Electronic Slide-out

A 7m electronic slide-out — turning a truck-width box into a proper home the moment you’re parked up.

04

Running Gear & Recovery

Super-single 365/80 R20 off-road tyres, side-exit exhaust, and the recovery kit to get unstuck anywhere on earth.

The Bike

A Harley-Davidson Sportster converted to a scrambler, carried on a fold-down rear platform — the runaround when the truck’s made camp.

Fit-out & Departure

The final push to 1 July 2027 — when it rolls out of Barnsley for real.

As It Stands

The before picture.

This is her, today. A 2014 Mercedes Arocs 3333 6×6, OM470 straight-six, 326hp, bought as a council gritter chassis. White cab, bare rails, quarry mud.

No box, no bed, no glamour — and that’s the point. Every stage from here — subframe, habitat box, slide-out, the lot — gets built by hand and filmed honestly. The spec below is where she’s going. This is where she starts.

What we’re building: a torsion-free subframe, then a fully insulated habitat box in satin black — beds for all four of us, a proper kitchen, hot shower, off-grid solar and lithium power, water for weeks not days, heating for −20 winters and airflow for desert heat. Slide-out storage, and every system serviceable with hand tools on the side of a road. Built to live in, not to show off.

Day one. Ex-council, honest miles.
Six driven wheels. All of them matter.
Where it’s headed.
The Truck

Arocs 3333 6×6. Built to cross the world.

A ground-up self-build on a satin-black Mercedes Arocs — not a kit, not a conversion off the shelf.

The world ahead
The Why

The whole world, ahead of us.

Why we’re really doing this

To turn it into something good.

This was never really about a truck. It’s about taking the hardest chapter of my life and turning it into something that means something — and bringing people with me.

It’s about two boys watching their dad rebuild from nothing — so they grow up knowing you can break, get back up, and come back stronger.

And it’s about proving the same internet that tears people down can lift them back up. If you’ve been at your own rock bottom, you’re not watching this journey — you’re on it with us.

How we give back will be set out here in full, in the open, once it’s all signed off — the only version worth doing is the honest one.

Family

The whole reason.

This isn’t a solo hero arc. It’s a family build, start to finish.

Every weld, every mile, everything we build is for this lot. The inheritance isn’t money — it’s watching it happen.

Latest From The Road

Follow it as it happens.

Every stage of the build and every mile of the road — posted honestly, as it happens.

Partners

Built with the right brands.

We’re actively looking to partner with brands for this build — the right ones.

Every stage of this truck gets built on camera by a tradesman with twenty years on the tools, then driven across roughly 42 countries on some of the hardest roads on earth. Kit that comes with us gets fitted properly, worked hard, and shown honestly — the full build series, the expedition, and everything in between. If it survives us, that says more than any advert.

If your brand belongs on this build — tools, power, suspension, tyres, camp kit, tech — we should talk.
